Triumph cars major innovations
One of Triumph’s major innovations was introducing the first disc brakes in a production car. In 1956, the Triumph TR3 made history by coming standard with front disc brakes, setting a new benchmark for automotive safety and performance.
Triumph also led the way with engine technology. The 1973 Dolomite Sprint was groundbreaking as the world’s first mass-produced car to feature a four-valve-per-cylinder engine, a design now common in performance vehicles.
Styling was another area where Triumph excelled. Renowned designers like Giovanni Michelotti crafted the brand’s sleek roadsters, helping define the classic British sports-car aesthetic enthusiasts still admire today.
