William H. ‘Bill’ Smith Birthday Open House
Jan 23 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

A true gentleman, William H. “Bill” Smith is considered the Museum’s founding father. He was larger than life and accomplished much to establish the Museum as America’s Transportation Experience. Whether you were a world-famous celebrity, the owner of a multi-million-dollar collection, or a stranger he met at a car show, Bill treated everyone with warmth and respect.
On Friday, January 23rd, the Museum honors Bill’s birthday, legacy, and spirit with a museum-wide open house. From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., we’re offering FREE ADMISSION, informative seminars, tours, and of course, birthday cake to all Museum visitors while supplies last.
Also, from noon until 1 p.m., Museum Board of Directors President Hank Hallowell and Curator Stan Sipko will fire up the grills and prepare a FREE LUNCH for all guests (while supplies last).
The 1959 Chevrolet El Camino, which Bill restored to award-winning status, will be on display.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the annual celebration open house! It’s a great day to honor Bill’s commitment to founding the Museum. If you are attending a group/car club, please register below. This helps us to best accommodate all guests.
