Museum Live: The Unconventional, Quirky Saab

Apr 11 @ 11:00 am 12:30 pm

On Saturday, April 11th, at 11 a.m. ET, we’re hosting a “Museum Live” on-site and online (via Zoom) presentation that takes an in-depth look at Swedish automaker Saab and several of the company’s rare and unique models. Saab was a Swedish automaker, renowned for its aviation heritage — often marketed as “born from jets.” The marque focused on a driver-focused, ergonomic design philosophy, a rare concept at the time. Their unconventional look and quirky features, such as the center-console ignition, a “Night Panel” button to reduce night-driving glare, and superior safety engineering, helped develop a loyal following.

The ‘Saab Showroom’exhibit and presentation is sponsored and presented by the Central Penn Saab Club. The FREE presentation is hosted by club members Rich Spina, Lynn Shaffer, and Michael Lilley. Several vehicles now on display in the Museum’s Williams-Clyne Gallery will be highlighted at the event. Among the cars presented are…1972 Saab Sonette III, 1978 Saab 99 Turbo, 1964 Saab Sport, and 1986 Saab 900T convertible.
